Day out of time at Boom Town...wow...so amazing to be here sharing these moments and learning so much.
Just got to Portugal to participate on the production of the Liminal Village at Boom Festival where I will be for the next month.
I am thankful to announce that I just got signed by the german label Planet B.E.N. Records as their Minimal Techno/ House DJ and A&R for Low Beats. I will be working with them on this phase of expansion of our range of music with glitch-hop, dub-step, minimal-techno, house and other styles of electronic dance music. So in the next little while you will be able to listen to some gems compiled by me....
Brazil was outstanding, besides the lack of sleep, everything else was prefect. Many amazing gigs, from small dark clubs to some of the best ones, 5 day festivals and 20k people one day parties...wow! mega blast! Trancendence in Alto Paraiso where i had the opportunity to share with old and new friends my projects on this 3 stages festival on the middle of a paradisiac farm with a river located on a Quartz Crystal plateau was unforgetable and Tribe in Sao Paulo, with its massive and professional production where I played with my good pows Trotter aka DJ Soneca, Zel, Lotus, Deutsch and others....
Oh yeah...off i go again...will be updating with y’all in a month or so...peace!no » www.boomfestival.org » www.planet-ben.net/ » www.boomfestival.org/boom2008/arts_culture/liminalvillage.php | | 2008-06-26 Touring!!! Plus other good news for ya!
Hey All!
Last few weeks have been outstanding...mid-year season began (summer on the N and winter in the S) beautifully....
New Yubaba website online to commemorate the confirmation of our album release on September through Cyberset Records!!! Check it out! Thanks to Zariat for getting it ready for us! We also have a track coming out at Timewarp Rec. from Greece, a collaboration with TrotterTrotter, featured on his EP of the upcoming album.
Starting on June 1st we had a really inspiring event at Temple, SeedSource 1.0, we all got together - artists, government officials, entertainment professionals - to talk about what we been working on, new initiatives and what’s next for greening our entertainment industry...followed by awesome shows of Beats Antique, Shawna, Flying Skulls, Kitty D, Majitope and myself.
After that was time to hit the road. New York City was my 1st stop, with a beautiful and rocking show at CoSM sharing the decks with my good west coast/ canada friends Ribotto, Tomas Cruzio, Anasia and other great talents...cant forget to mention the cozy minimal techno gig Activate as well...
Gaian-Mind Summer Festival followed it...uau!!!...The best Trance Festival in the East Coast for sure! So amazing to be with the family!!! Great to see the development of the scene after missing last years gathering...if you guys read this...THANK YOU U ROCK!!! I had the honor of starting the dance for the weekend with an early night minimal set on thursday, I couldn’t had imagined a best way to finish my USA tour phase....
Now its Terra Brasilis!!! South, but if you think im sweating here, you are wrong...winter time! I'll be here for the next month and really hope to see all those friendly smiley faces! Starting this week Thursday (26/06) I will be playing at 12 pm in the legendary, longest running trance night in Sao Paulo, Klatu. Then it will be Belo Horizonte, where I have 2 dates, playing with Tim Healey on July 4th at E-Cool!
And it just gets better, Trancendence, located on a Quartz Crystal plateau which is the most amazing location I been in this country, 5 days of comemorations...Yubaba Live and DJ sets of minimal and chill-out. Don’t miss it if you are anywhere around that has a plane to take u there!!!
To finish this brazilian phase, nothing less than Tribe on July 19th sharing stage with the top brazilian Chill-Out artists Trotter, Smurf, Alquimix, Lotus...
Then, its Europe! oh yeah! Boom Shankar! I am assisting Naasko on the management of the Liminal Village at BOOM Festival in Portugal, a whole month there, with a live and dj set to make my dreams a bit better than i had wished for!
After that back to Brazil for a week, so far confirmed date is Siona on September 3rd at Clash in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Back North then...NY, Cali and maybe Canada....
Hope to see you somewhere around the globe!!!

Great projects for this summer!!!
In June/July I will be touring Brasil, playing in Sao Paulo, Belo Horizonte and Alto Paraiso ( Trancendence ).
After that straight to Portugal where I will be producing the Liminal Village with Naasko and the amazing nw visionary crew. We will be there through two festivals:
Reboot Now , focused on sustainability, with workshops, lectures and permaculture activites;
BOOM Festival , an independent culture artistic expression gathering.
Both happening in the same location in Portugal during the first half of August... | | 2008-03-13 New Mixes Online!!!
Heyall!!
I just uploaded to new mixes!!!
One is focused on minimal techno and electro (Basic Beat Funktions) and the other is definitely influenced by the californian groovy glitch scene (Glitch in the Pitch)
Hope you enjoy them!!! | | 2008-01-13 Universo Paralello
Safari on the beach,
What a amazing way to welcome the new year.
Reflecting the rich brazilian culture, Universo Paralello, offers from tribal and traditional brazilian northeastern music and dance to the latest underground tunes of modern electronic music.
A city of tents is created under the coconut trees in the dunes of Pratigi, where 15 thousand people camp in areas spread around the 5 stages - Main Stage (Psy-Trance), Alternative (Minimal, Electro), Chill-Out (Nugrooves and Downtempo), Goa Stage (Goa-Trance) and one with live music and folkloric presentations - plus the Tribal Market and Food Areas.
It was hard to not stop for an açai or fresh fruit in between one stage or another, amidst a wide variety of music amplified on massive systems. It was an incredible experience to dance on the sand, watching the ocean in a dance floor decorated with a sunken boat, relax under an tipi created with giant bambus and dry palm leafs breathing the breeze from the ocean... or dance as in the old times, goa style in the forest with sprinklers for the hottest moments.
Being our 2nd live performance as Yubaba, after a successful premiere in California, at Symbioisis Gathering, it was great to play for the brasileiros, so many friendly faces dancing with the ocean in the background.
If you like sun, happy people, good food and lots of electronic music, should check it out. People from all over the world attend, this being the year with the biggest number of “gringos” who are generally pleased to encounter menus in english and a very welcoming attitude. Some people even called it a ‘Trance Resort’ - right on the beach, with most of what you could want or need, from the famously clean toilets and showers to an internet shop.
2008-09 we are there again. Join us!
