YUBABA

Yubaba é o projeto lounge de Frederico Drummond e Pedro Gomide que após anos de experiência têm seu espaço garantido nos maiores festivais do Brasil, EUA e Europa. Fred, músico e produtor de música eletrônica há mais de 10 anos, tem o projeto de Psy-Trance PatchBay com inúmeros lançamentos e shows nos 5 continentes. Pedro, um dos precursores da cena chill-out brasileira, morou nos Estados Unidos pelos ultimos 5 anos, representando o label de downtempo Interchill Records do Canada e produzindo eventos culturais como os na CoSM de Alex Grey em Nova Iorque. De volta ao Brasil no final de 2008 ele continua ativo na cena, agora fazendo a direção artistica do The World Stage para a Tribe.

Fred e Pedro se juntaram nessa parceria onde adaptam as influências de suas viagens pelo mundo, misturando diferentes estilos sempre com um equilíbrio entre os sons digitais, sintetizadores analógicos e os elementos orgânicos. Contando com a participação das cantoras Thailan e Nathalia Faria, do MC BlackLight, do trumpetista Dan Covan e percussionistas, Yubaba evolve do dub ao house, passando pelo nu-jazz e trip-hop. Paradiso, o primeiro álbum a ser lançado esse ano, foi gravado em Nova Iorque e São Francisco, tendo sido apresentado em festivais como o Boom em Portugal, Universo Paralello e Trancendence no Brasil e Symbiosis na Califórnia.

Yubaba lançará seu primeiro album este ano através do label californiano Cyberset Rec.

Yubaba is the free-style lounge project of Frederico Drummond e Pedro Gomide, an evolving journey from dub into house, with a trip hop feeling and a jazz taste, it features a diverse array of live musicians mixed with analog synthesizers in a digital environment.

Active artists in the Brazilian chill-out and trance scenes for many years, they have appeared at several of the premiere festivals in Brazil, USA and Europe. They joined their skills in this project, where they mix their cultural influences, recreating the eclectic and open-minded mood you could only find in Brazil.

Their first album ,"Paradiso", was released through Cyberset Records from California. In Paradiso, they feature singers Thailan and Nathalia Faria, the MC Blacklight, plus the trumpet player Dan Covan creating soulful melodies and rhythmic textures. Following Paradiso, they have been releasing remixes and his own compositions in Austria, Ibiza & Korea.

With shows at Boom Festival, Symbiosis Gathering, Universo Paralello, Festival Eletronika and the latest in front of thousands of people at Savassi Festival - Jazz & Lounge, they keep amazing the listeners with their unique combinations and groovy rhythms.
